WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We are an all volunteer organization that receives no public funds. To survive and continue our mission of improving the life of animals in the Anderson County area, we depend on the gracious donations and membership dues of caring people, just like you!!!

If you would like to become a member of the Humane Society please call our hotline at (864) 225-9855. We would love to have you join our organization and could use all of the help we can get. We appreciate any time you can give the organization, even if its just a small amount of time. Every little bit helps!

The following are just a few of the volunteer opportunities we have available:

Education-Public speaking, staffing educational exhibits, networking with schools, writing about humane education issues.
Foster Program-Providing temporary foster care for animals in need until a home can be found.
Legislative Support-Lobbying and educating local and state representatives about the need for stronger animal welfare legislation, staying informed of current legislative efforts.
Fundraising - Participating in any of our fundraising events, or having your own fundraising events!
Special Events - We also need help with events! Whether it's helping to walk the dogs, or taking tickets, we can always use extra help!
Rescue-Providing rescue assistance to animals in need.

DID YOU KNOW...

The number of feral cats in the U.S. has been estimated at 60 million. Ferals are the wild offspring of domestic cats, and ALWAYS the result of pet owners who fail to spay or neuter their animals. The Humane Society of the United States estimates that a pair of breeding cats and their offspring can exponentially produce over 400,000 cats in 7 years.
